Bikes for Books

Last year, Rising Sun donated 24 bicycles to promote reading among students at two Nashua elementary schools.  This year we hope to do the same, and Steve Trachtenberg has volunteered to chair the program.

If you want to help, contact Steve, either by email at strachtenberg@yahoo.com, or by phone at 352-226-9436.  To make a tax-deductable donation, make checks out to Rising Sun Lodge, and print Bikes for Books in the memo field.

New Year, New Dues Card

The Grand Master has stated that you must have a current dues card to vote.  An expired dues card will let you into a meeting, just as a demit will do, but will prevent you from voting.

Brethren, dues for 2012 were to be paid by December 31, 2011.  If you’ve already made that payment, we thank you.  If you are having financial difficulties, please let us know.  Contact the Secretary, so that the Lodge might help.

Masonic Education

“How did you know that?”  Brethren, Masters Classes are held monthly throughout the District.  Topics cover what every Master Mason should know, and what every Master of a Lodge must know.  The next meeting is at St. Mark’s Lodge in Derry, on January 14.  It runs from 9 to 11 AM.

Special Ladies

Brothers Treff Sage, John Woodrow, and Al Sewell have been making calls to our Special Ladies and Shut-ins to see if they need our assistance. If you know of someone who needs some help, contact one of them, or your officers, especially Bob Porter, Steve Bahsler, or Guy Martineau.
